Dorffest - village festivities

Our village Fusterouau has just about 127 (or is it 128?) inhabitants. Once end of July traditionally there is the famous fete de village. A tradition that is held in every village and luckily not on the same weekend, so we can visit many in the neighbourhood, which we love to do.

Sackhuepfen, sack hopping
We have been to those in the vicinity in Bascou, Nogaro, Eauze, Gellenave, Marciac, Aignan, Margouet-Memes and some others.
Normally its a big meal shared with the villagers, cooked by the village committee members, everyone has a share and sometimes there is disco, or the village band plays. In Fusterouau there is all of this and on top there was a motorbike ralleye and some games for 3 different age groups. The kids, the teenagers and the adults.
We also participated, which was fun, but sack hopping turned out to be most challenging for my condition... lol...
We did egg and spoon race, tag of war, torch relay and sack hopping. Very entertaining also for the audience.

Eierlauf - egg and spoon race
